Check the trade is fair
Sadly, there are people within the MLP community who prey on newbies.
They don't do anything illegal, but they do persuade people to part with
rare ponies in exchange for common ones.
Taking advantage of someone's ignorance is not fair behaviour. I consider
this to be at least as bad as scamming.
If you're ever unsure about a trade, then ask around. We all do it. Try
chatrooms, post asking for advice on a MLP board, or email someone who'd know. We'll be
happy to help.
