Check the feedback of your seller
I can't stress this enough. I know from experience that people are
reluctant to leave negative feedback on eBay, for fear of reprisals.
I would advise you to check out any negative feedback carefully - and
then check the feedback of the person who leaves the negative.
Also, it's worth reading the positive feedback - try to read between
the lines. You may find that a seller has a habit of being slow, or having poor communication. Then you can decide whether or not you'd like to deal with them.
Most sellers who are very active on eBay pick up the odd negative feedback
from problem buyers. But if there are more than a couple, you should consider
avoiding their auctions.
On this note, I would ask people to leave negative feedback when their
transaction has been less than satisfactory. As a community, we cannot fight auction scammers
if you don't help us.
